Marleigh Ann Buechler

My Story

Marleigh started her dancing career at a young age. Marleigh was involved with drill team, cheer, and studio dance. As a drill team member, Marleigh was nominated to be co-caption for the Bismarck Demonettes the year of 2015. During the time Marleigh competed for her drill team they placed 1st overall regionally and placed in Jazz, Pom, Kick, and Hip Hop at a national level. During Marleigh’s sophomore year her team nominated her for having the best facials and performance on the team. When Marleigh was in cheer she was considered their main choreographer. She also one an All American Award at the NCA Cheer Camp. As a studio dancer, Marleigh was dedicated to become the best dancer that she could be. With her hard work and history of having great performance qualities, Marleigh won several awards. Some of those awards included category, judges choice, title, and overall awards. Marleigh started working at a pre-school when she was 16 years old and found her hidden love for teaching. As Marleigh graduated high school, she not only attended college for elementary education, but also pursued her dancing career as a coach and mentor.

Marleigh’s time as coach and mentor brought her such joy and happiness that she started choreographing for competitive teams. In her experience, her routines have regularly placed in the top 3, and have won a variety of Judges Choice Awards. Marleigh has worked her way to teach children of all ages and abilities. Marleigh attended University of Mary to earn a Bachelors of Elementary Education, and a Minor in Special Education. In January of 2023, Marleigh completed her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. The knowledge Marleigh gained her studies has allowed her to become the dance instructor she is today. Marleigh’s love for dance has allowed her to teach others how to express their emotions in a healthy way and to tell stories that cannot be always put into words. Marleigh is confident in teaching jazz, hip hop, open, lyrical, and drill team. Her favorite style to choreograph is jazz. Marleigh has done choreography for studio, drill teams, and gymnastics floor routines. On top of being phenomenal dance instructor, Marleigh is also a 4th grade teacher at Fort Lincoln Elementary School. Marleigh’s favorite quote that guides her along her bright journey is “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but will never forget how you made them feel."
